The Raw Society
Issue Four
268pp softback magazine
The Raw Society Magazine is now four issues strong—where does the time go?
It’s a truly international collaboration. I design the magazine from my studio in Bath, UK. From Menorca, co-founder Christelle Enquist is a Spanish-Swedish photographer, while Jorge Delgado-Ureña is a Spanish photographer and mentor. Kayla Green and Mei Seva, both based in the US, are key contributors: Kayla is a journalist and executive editor for several community newspapers, and Mei is a creative documentary photographer. The magazine was printed by Antelope De Bie near Antwerp (for NPN Printing in Breda, the Netherlands).
As with the previous three publications, it’s always fascinating to see the variety of photographic content and accompanying writing. This issue features Ukraine by Eric Flood, Jorge Delgado-Ureña and Thomas Machowicz; Celebrations by Denise Pensky; Neoforme by Jan Guth; Modern Witches by Sabina Diethelm; One City, Three Stories by Jacqui Shepherd, Jim Ewel and Sajad Ahmad; Potri Ranka Manis by Ed Kashi; Mirror of Life by Tamer Tamar; Gaza by Mattia Bidoli; Under Starters’ Orders by Tom Pitts; Messengers by Micah Green; Love and Luchas by Sandra Hernández; and Triangulation by Stephanie Duprie Routh.
The magazine also includes an interview with Magnum photographer Cristina de Middel.
