I designed this small-format publication for two&two press. For over 1,000 days—since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022—photographer Marc Wilson has been sharing images from a more peaceful time, from before the war, as a quiet daily reminder and a longing for that life.

This book brings together a selection of those photographs, accompanied by fragments of stories—Marc’s attempt, as a photographer, husband, and father, to preserve their memories.

It begins in 2018 and ends with a photograph taken by Marc in March 2022, just 18 days after the invasion began.

The structure is simple. The design allows the images to speak for themselves—quietly, and with care.
